Teacher of English (Maternity Cover)

The position is for a fixed term period due to maternity cover starting in January 2021.

Job Details:

We are looking for a motivated, qualified Teacher of English to join our enthusiastic team.

We are proud that the department has improved strongly year on year and achieves outstanding success, with many students choosing to continue their studies in English Literature and Language at A Level.

GCSE teaching experience is necessary and experience of English Literature and Language at A-Level is preferable.

STUDENT LIAISON OFFICER

Salary: Grade 6 Points 14-19, £23,080 to £25,481 per annum (actual salary £19,826 – £21,889)

Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days
Start Date: January 2021

Job Details:
We are looking for a positive and flexible individual to join our team of Student Liaison Officers. Your role will be working with students and staff in order to address incidents of inappropriate behaviour and to provide an effective support and information service for our students. 

Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in ensuring students attend lessons promptly in order to ensure learning opportunities are maximised

Assist in enabling students to access the curriculum by helping to identify and address any barriers to learning.

To provide pastoral support and counselling for individual students, liaising with other staff and agencies as necessary.

To provide a support service for staff where student behaviour required intervention or medication.

To provide information and support service for students including provision of timetable information and guidance/advice about academy policies and procedures.

To participate in the smooth running of the student isolation unit and/or behaviour unit.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and mediation skills.  They must be a team worker who has a proven ability to work well with and command the trust of students aged 11-16. 

A good level of literacy and numeracy is essential.  Knowledge of KS3 and KS4 education system and experience of working in a busy school environment is desirable but not essential.
