We are a growing Sixth Form able to offer you a wide range of A-Level and vocational course choices. But unlike other, much larger, colleges where it is much easier to become ‘just’ another student, we remain small enough to give you the personal attention you need to help you with your studies. We are based at Archbishop Sentamu Academy but are open to students from other schools too.
Our overall aim is to help you secure the best results possible in whatever subjects you choose; our prospectus details all the course choices and entry requirements.

Whether you are staying with us or joining from somewhere else; if you want to join a growing and ambitious sixth form because you want the best results possible, then we are keen to hear from you.
TASTER DAY: Friday 13th of December 2019
(Taster Day is for ASA students – External students are welcomed and encouraged to make appointments to visit the academy)
The Post 16 curriculum model includes a range of Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, mathematics and English GCSE Resits, an Enrichment Programme (for yr 12) and work experience time (for yr 12). Students are interviewed after their application is submitted and then after their GCSE results.
Suitable programmes are developed for each student. Career ambitions are ascertained before decisions are taken.
The curriculum model allows for Level 2 students to progress to Level 3 courses and for Level 3 students to pursue one of three pathways: academic, vocational and mixed. All students work towards completing 3 courses at Level 3 at the end of year 13.
“ASA 6th Form students achieve record A Level and BTEC grades in Academy’s history for the fourth year running.”

“I feel that the courses I have studied during my time in the Sixth Form have enabled me to grow in confidence and develop so many new skills. I have enjoyed the social life in the Sixth Form and met many friends. The teaching staff have given me their full support and helped me with my ambition of studying Sports Journalism at University.”
“I have mixed feelings leaving the Sixth Form. Having spent 7 years at the Academy I will be deeply saddened to leave all of the staff and friends I have made during my time here. However, I am looking forward to University and making new friends and facing new challenges.”

“Graduation is a symbolic event, not just marking the end of our time at the sixth form, but the end of an era, the beginning of the rest of our lives, the mark of our being independent adults, going out into the world and doing the Academy proud. A beautiful ending to a wonderful 7 years.”
